Gunna Mayer

In 1971 Gunna Meyer was born in Niedersachsen, in the North-West of Germany. After finishing her Abitur, she started to study fashion at the University of Applied Science and Arts in Hamburg.

She wins a scholarship by the DAAD to enrol at Central Saint Martin's College of Art & Design in London for womenswear. In 2001 she receives her Master of Arts.

Upon her return to Hamburg, she is employed as designer for the fashion brand CLOSED for 3 years.

After that, she starts working as a costume assistant for several productions, mainly for Katrin Lea Tag at the Volksbühne, Berlin and the Thalia Theater, Hamburg.

Since 2004 she is constantly working freelance for a wide range of theatres, as Staatstheater Dresden, HAU Berlin, Thalia-Theater Hamburg, Münchner Kammerspiele, Stadttheater Heidelberg, DT Göttingen, Theater Freiburg, Staatstheater Saarbrücken, DT Berlin, Luzerner Theater, Theater Aachen, Theatro Arzuela Madrid, Schauspielhaus Kiel, to name a few.
