About us

The Hessisches Landestheater Marburg GmbH is supported by the state of Hesse and the city of Marburg and is one of the six publicly subsidized theater companies in Hesse. With 70 employees, including an ensemble of 18 actors and its own trades in the areas of costume, make-up, props, carpentry and metalwork, the HLTM has four permanent venues and has the task of bringing theater to the area.

Since the 2018/2019 season, the HLTM has been managed by the artistic directors Eva Lange and Carola Unser-Leichtweiß. One focus of the HLTM is a diverse and sophisticated theater for people from the age of three to old age. Classics, contemporary drama, musical theater productions, novel adaptations and more make up the varied repertoire. An annual highlight is the Hessian Children's and Youth Theatre Week under the name "KUSS - Theater sehen! Theater spielen" with numerous guest performances from Hesse, Germany and Europe.
