Camilla Daemen
Stage Design
Camilla Daemen, born in Frankfurt (Oder) in 1980, studied costume design and fine arts at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hanover.
During her studies, she created costume designs for theater productions and short films. In addition, a study trip and joint project work took her to the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, India.
After completing her studies, Camilla Daemen worked as a costume assistant at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Berlin, the Schauspielhaus Hamburg and the Komische Oper Berlin. She was then employed as a costume assistant at the Deutsches Theater Berlin for four years.
There she designed numerous costume designs, including for "Fabelhafte Familie Baader" as part of the Autorentheatertage Berlin 2010 and "Coriolanus" (director: Rafael Sanchez), "Judith" (director: Andreas Kriegenburg), "Die Herzschrittmacherin" as part of the Autorentheatertage Berlin 2014 (director: Jorinde Dröse) as well as for the song recitals "Die Legende vom 60/40-Gemisch" and "Moritz Grove präsentiert Casablanca" (both directed by Lilja Rupprecht).
She designed the costumes for "Onkel Wanja" at Schauspielhaus Bochum (director: Stephan Kimmig), for Hasko Weber's productions of "Terror" at Deutsches Theater Berlin and "Faust. Der Tragödie zweiter Teil" at the Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar, for "Der Schimmelreiter" at Theater Lübeck and "Fabian" at Theater und Orchester Heidelberg (both directed by Brit Bartkowiak) as well as for the stunt show in the volcano at Filmpark Babelsberg (director: Marita Erxleben).
Camilla Daemen has been working as a freelance costume designer since 2014.
She has worked as a costume designer with the directors Brit Bartkowiak, Jorinde Dröse, Marita Erxleben, Katja Fillmann, Matthias Kaschig, Stephan Kimmig, Andreas Kriegenburg, Alexander Riemenschneider, Lilja Rupprecht, Rafael Sanchez and Hasko Weber.
