Ewe Benbenek


Ewe Benbenek studied cultural and political sciences at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) and at University College London, as well as literature at the University of Erfurt and was a research assistant at the Chair of Modern German Literature/Theater Research at the University of Hamburg from 2014 to 2019. In 2019 she was nominated for the Retzhofer Dramapreis. Her play Tragödienbastard was funded by uniT and Schauspielhaus Wien as part of the working studio and premiered at Schauspielhaus Wien on October 30.

In 2021, she won the Mühlheimer Dramatikpreis for Tragödienbastard and in the same year was voted young playwright of the year in the Theater heute critics' poll.
