Liljan Halfen
Liljan Halfen was born in 1989 and lives and works as a freelance theater maker in Frankfurt am Main.
While studying cultural studies in Leipzig, she worked as an assistant director, production manager and dramaturge (for the Werkstattbühne at LOFFT Leipzig and the Cologne collective subbotnik, among others). In 2015, she was a Next Generation scholarship holder at the Westwind Festival and has been creating her own artistic works in various constellations since 2016: Es schneit Eiderdaunen (with Carina Eberle, Theater Marabu Bonn) as well as AUTO (LAB Frankfurt), ROOMS (2018, Künstlerhaus Mousonturm) and wearing heavy boots (premiere postponed to 2021) with her performance collective HELLA LUX, which develops interactive formats for audiences of all ages.
Her production Struwwelpeter (2019, Theater Gruene Soße) was awarded the Karfunkel Prize of the City of Frankfurt in 2020. In June 2020, Satellites in the Night Sky premiered at the Comedia Theater Cologne.
Liljan Halfen is part of the artistic direction of Theater Gruene Soße, as well as a board member of Paradiesvogel - Frankfurter Modell der eigenständigen Theater für junges Publikum e.V. As a dramaturge, she developed and directed various residency and training formats, such as the next generation workspace - international research residency for theater for young audiences (Starke Stücke Festival, Künstlerhaus Mousonturm, Theaterhaus Frankfurt), as well as within the framework of the mediation offensive ALL IN of Künstlerhaus Mousonturm.
