Direction

Milena Mönch is a freelance theater director. She studied directing at the Thomas Bernhard Institute of the Mozarteum University in Salzburg under the guidance of Amélie Niermeyer and Christoph Lepschy. Stays abroad took her to the Central Academy of Drama, Beijing in 2016, Goldsmith College, University of London in 2017 and the RITCS in Brussels in 2018. 

Her graduation production "Three Sisters" based on Anton Čechov was invited to the Körber Studio Junge Regie at the Thalia Theater Hamburg in 2019, where it won the audience award. In the same year, her production of "The Son" by Marine Bachelot won the Audience & Jury Prize at the Festival Primeurs for Francophone Contemporary Drama at the Saarländisches Staatstheater.

Milena Mönch assisted Luk Perceval at the Comédie de Genève and Karin Henkel and Thom Lutz at the Munich Residenztheater.

In addition to her work at the Hessisches Landestheater in Marburg, Milena Mönch has staged productions at the Oldenburgisches Staatstheater (Käthchen. Ritterin von Heilbronn, 2021), the Staatstheater Braunschweig (Frau Ada denkt Unerhörtes, 2021), the Saarländisches Staatstheater (Ode, 2022) and the Staatstheater Mainz (Das wirkliche Leben, 2023).
