Anne Frank

Das Tagebuch der Anne Frank

theatrical reading

Anne Frank was only 13 years old when she and her family were forced into hiding in the back of an Amsterdam warehouse. Over the course of two years she kept a diary, which today is both one of the world’s most famous pieces of literature and also an historical testimony. “The Diary of Anne Frank” is an intimate and moving account of a family of eight living under extreme conditions, isolated from the outside world and threatened by the all-too-palpable spectre of impending death.

For THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK, we are inviting a Polish artist to work on this material. Following the guest performance MARGARETE by the Polish performance team TURKOWSKI&NOWACKA, we are thus continuing our cooperation series with our neighboring country Poland. With this theater series, which thrives on honest encounters and solidarity, we want to counteract the existing cracks in a common European vision.
